"Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls. A joyful heart is the inevitable result of a heart burning with love" ~Mother Teresa

At the end of each wonderfully exhausting day, you'll fall into bed with joy and peace, knowing you got to have such a great time building the Kingdom of God.
Our Summer Programs
Check out our homepages (buttons below) for videos about each program!
Manus Christi (June)
Manus Christ is Latin for "Hands of Christ". This week-long service and mission experience gives participants the opportunity to encounter Christ in those in need while learning about and living the concepts of personal dignity, the common good, solidarity, and subsidiarity. High School students join us from around the country for a week of encounter through prayer, the Sacraments, service, formation, and fellowship.
Camp Bosco (July)
Camp Bosco is more than just eating s'mores, swimming in the pool, and backpacking up the mountain. Camp is about transforming lives through programs rooted in Catholic tradition and personal encounters with Jesus Christ. We have a blast through hands-on activities and wilderness adventures that teach problem solving, teamwork, and Catholic values.
Why join us? How do you benefit?
There are numerous benefits for becoming part of the Mary Help of Christians community....
1. Intentional Catholic community

3. Live in the beautiful WV mountains filled with opportunities for adventure
4. Develop stronger leadership and ministry skills
5. Salary, housing, and meals all summer long
6. A leadership team that can't wait to be Christ to you
Summer Programming Staff
Summer Programming Staff works to provide a fun and engaging experience of Christian community for participants of Manus Christi and Camp Bosco through direct relational ministry. During Manus Christi, staff will work with youth and chaperones facilitating their mission experience and help them pray, be in community, live out works of Christian charity, and learn about Catholic social teaching. Staff will be with a group of young people much of the day leading projects and worksites, prayer, and chores. During Camp Bosco, staff are with the young people looking after their needs - physical, emotional, and spiritual - and will lead their groups in activities ranging from archery and crafts to hygiene and chores. The staff will also take their campers on overnight camping trips and are responsible for creating a positive adventure experience.
Activity Staff runs all ropes elements (climbing tower, zip-line, and swing by choice), horse, and aquatics (pool, log rolling, and canoeing) activities for Camp Bosco, Manus Christi, and our summer user groups. Activity Staff is responsible for working with the staff of all programs on site to coordinate schedules and ensure great experiences for all participants. Staff will oversee equipment care and basic maintenance of the program areas. In addition to these functions, staff will assist the Mary Help of Christians Pastoral Center in other areas as needed in tasks such as trail work, cleaning, hospitality, kitchen duties, being "on-deck" to fill in for Manus Christi and Camp Bosco, and setting up evening programming.
Our horse wranglers get the unique opportunity to use their gifts being in relationship with both people and horses as they lead all summer participants in horse activities. This includes leading corral rides, short and long trail rides through fields and wooded hills in our beautiful mountain valley, caring for the horses, bringing them in and saddling them for the rides, and providing all participants who come to MHC throughout the summer an amazing experience of relational ministry that demonstrates the incredible way we can meet Christ through the joy of time spent with horses.
During the month of July, and for one week of preparation in June, we are in need of two kitchen staff members who are excited to truly demonstrate what servant leadership looks like. This is a wonderful opportunity to be at the service of others to make everything else that happens during Camp Bosco possible. Without yummy food, camp just isn't fun, anywhere, ever. Kitchen staff are responsible to help write the menu, inventory and order food, prep meals, serve food in a timely fashion, and clean the kitchen (with the help of a dish crew) after every meal. Must get WV food handler certified during training, and must come with big joy for serving hard. And must be willing to get tons of appreciation from staff and campers alike!
